high-performance MPEG-2 video decoder LSI (Large Scale Integrated
Circuit) brings you a completely stable, jitter-free digital picture.
The DVD-2000 also supports a wide variety of aspect ratios for
exceptional picture reproduction on both today's and tomorrow's
televisions.
High-Quality Digital Sound with Dolby Digital (AC-3): With a
powerful microprocessor specifically dedicated to decoding Dolby
Digital (AC-3) soundtracks and additional capability to handle high
density, linear PCM digital audio data (20 bit words at up to 96 kHz
sampling frequencies), DENONís DVD-2000 will reproduce
high-resolution sound from a variety of digital formats. In addition
to internal D/A conversion for easy connection to today's audio/video
systems, the DVD-2000 also includes an optical digital output for
easy connection to an outboard surround sound processor or
stand-alone D/A converter.
Twin-Focus Pickup for Video CD and Music CD Playback: Another
DENON development, the Twin-Focus Pickup reads both video DVDs and
music CDs interchangeably despite the fact that data is stored at
different depths on each format. This simple and highly reliable
design permits accurate data recovery without the need to change
optical pickup assemblies or objective lenses.
Versatile Interactive Functions:
- A Multi-Angle function lets you select different viewpoints or
camera angles for different scenes. This is particularly useful
for analyzing instruction videos, etc.
- The Multi-Sound function lets you select dialog playback from
any of up to eight languages.
- Multi-Subtitle capability lets you select subtitles in up to
32
- different languages.
Other Unique Features:
- A Custom Bookmark function lets you designate up to three
locations on the disc where you can start playback whenever you
wish.
- Restart Play Memory lets you restart play from the same
location where you stopped.
- Auto Power Off conserves electricity by automatically turning
off the DVD-2000 after approximately 30 minutes of "no signal"
standby.
