Introducing the Codem III-US Tuner - While CD and cassette playback features are important, studies show that most drivers still spend a great deal of time listening to the radio for news, sports, and talk, and, of course, music. For these reasons, Blaupunkt continues its heritage of providing superior tuner performance.

Typified by its true FM Mono Sensitivity rating of 13 dBf, the new Blaupunkt Codem lII-US tuner chalks up impressive measurements in all typically-cited performance measurement areas.

Beyond superior design and performance measurements, the Codem III-US Tuner simply sounds better, because Blaupunkt addresses many other tuner-related characteristics that are often ignored in other car radios:

Blaupunkt's Superior "Automatische St&oumlrunterdr&uumlckung" Electrical Impulse Noise Rejection (ASU) prevents electrical noises from faulty ignition systems on your car and neighboring vehicles, motors, advertising signs and the like from causing static-like noises in the FM tuner.
Superior FM Multipath Rejection Management - Significantly reduces bursts of "fuzzy" sounds caused by radio signal reflections off buildings and the like.
Superior FM & AM Strong-Signal Management - Significantly reduces station fade-out when driving near powerful FM & AM transmitting sites.
Superior AM Rejection of Spurious Signals - Minimizes objectionable noises when driving near TV and FM transmitting sites.
Superior FM & AM Tuner-Overload Management - Resists being overwhelmed by powerful local stations and producing the sounds of multiple stations and the resulting gross noise.

New Choices for Cassettes - Cassette tapes continue to provide an unmatched combination of recording versatility and availability to recordings unavailable in other formats.
Blaupunkt's cassette features include our 9-Track Super CPS Cassette Program Search (which takes the tape to the start of the desired song),
Adjustable Blank Skip, MTL Metal Tape Equalization, Tape Scan, Track Repeat
Pause/Play and Dolby B Noise Reduction.
Radio Monitor activates the radio during tape winding and, unique to Blaupunkt, allows the driver to select any preset on the most-recently-tuned band during winding.
CD Playback For Every Radio: Six radios have built-in CD playback and/or CDC-A05 Changer control, and the compact CDC-RF6 and CDC-RF6ir Changers can be used with any electronically-tuned car radios. To prevent skips, all Blaupunkt CD products' mechanisms include sophisticated, silicone-oil-dampened anti-shock and -vibration suspension.
Auxilary Input In addition, all units (except the Malibu) have an input jack for connecting portable audio equipment. A portable CD player can be added to a cassette radio, and a cassette player can be added to a CD radio.
Power, Anyone? - More power means more sound and better sound. All units (except the Malibu) have at least 30-Watts-x-4-Channel maximum internal power to drive four speakers, some up to 35 Watts x 4 Channels. To power additional speakers, most units include high-voltage (3.0V), low-impedance (100 ohm), pre-amp output for connecting external amplifiers, such as Blaupunkt's Velocity amplifiers.
A four-channel harness accessory is available for adding preamp output for front channels
Tuner Timer -Automatically switches sources and tunes in a desired station at a specified time - you won't miss your favorite news or the traffic report anymore.
Disc Select-By-Name - Your disc names are available while selecting discs, when they are of the most value. No more waiting until after playback starts to see the name.
Disc List - Review the names of the changer discs -- without leaving the disc that's playing --- unless you find a disc you want.
TravelStore - Automatically stores powerful stations. Especially useful when travelling in unfamiliar areas.
Logical Cassette Controls - True Fast-Forward and Rewind means that the same button is used for Fast-Forward no matter which side of the tape is playing. Same for Fast Rewind.
Green Background Display - Makes the display easy to read in all light conditions.
Wireless Remote Controls - Control your 5 Series radio from the sterring wheel with the Thummer™ remote control --- or from the back seat with the RC-06H credit-card-size remote control.
Source Tone Memory - Store separate bass, treble and loudness settings for Cassette, CD, Aux In, FM and AM.
Turn-On Message - Enter and activate a message of up to 40 characters that turns on when the unit is turned on.
Direct Software Control (DSC) Menu Blaupunkt's DSC Menu provides a unique assortment of adjustable settings that allow you to customize your radio to your liking. These typically "set-it-and-forget-it" features are thoughfully placed under a single MENU Button, leaving plenty of room for other more frequently-adjusted features.
